Who We Are
Scoptvision is a Belgian software startup founded in 2022 by Lars Cappelle and Kristof Borgions. With backgrounds in building management systems and product development, they joined forces to tackle one of the biggest challenges in the energy transition: making home charging truly smart and scalable for Charge Point Operators.
Since 2021, Belgium has enforced strict energy regulations, making smart charging not just desirable but economically essential. Think peak load tariffs, the removal of compensation for feeding energy back into the grid, and other measures that highlight the importance of intelligent energy management.
On top of that, Belgium’s vehicle fleet is rapidly electrifying, especially due to the high share of company cars. This combination of regulation and market shift makes Belgium an ideal testing ground for smart charging solutions. But Belgium isn’t alone. Across Europe, similar steps are being taken toward a more efficient and sustainable energy system. Smart charging is a key link in that transition. From our base in Leuven, we’re building Scoptvision: international, scalable, brand-agnostic technology compatible with any charging environment. Our software integrates seamlessly with existing infrastructure and hardware from various suppliers, making it deployable across borders—and it already is.
To make this possible, we actively collaborate with leading industry organizations such as the Open Charge Alliance (OCA) and Smarten.
